A former assistant scoutmaster in DeKalb County has been arrested in Florida on charges that he solicited sex from a 13-year-old boy online.The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office arrested 15 men in a recent five-day sting called “Operation No Soliciting,” including Richard Charles Holubek, 47, of Orange Park, Fla.Authorities said Holubek thought he was meeting a 13-year-old male.The Review has learned that Holubek, an assistant manager at a Walgreen’s branch in Florida, was an assistant scoutmaster for Boy Scouts of America Troop 347 locally before moving to Florida in 2009.Holubek was charged with three felonies: use of a computer service to seduce or solicit a child; obscene communication, travel to meet after use of a computer to lure a child; and utilizing a two-way device to facilitate a felony. The arrests were the result of an undercover operation designed to ferret out people who use the internet to sexually exploit children.It was the second one of its kind held in St. Johns County in the last two years.During the sting, undercover detectives posed online as juveniles or parents to arrange for suspects to meet them at a home in northwestern St. Johns County.Between March 13-17, all 15 individuals allegedly solicited a parent or minor online, and came to the home hoping to participate in sexual activity with children between the ages of 13 and 14.The suspects were arrested upon arrival at the home.Holubek’s bonds total $75,000.
