Trina Rose Mathews, 49, was charged with a second offense of driving under the influence and a second offense of driving on a suspended license on April 13.She was also cited for driving without headlights, failure to maintain her lane of travel, violation of the implied consent law, and possession of drug paraphernalia.According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, a deputy was on routine patrol on Highway 70 East met a truck at Sligo Bridge with no headlights on.The truck was reportedly traveling east in the middle of the highway, crossing the center line.When the officer pulled the vehicle over at Hillcrest Market, he allegedly found Mathews behind the wheel.The deputy allegedly noticed that her speech was slurred and very slow.He asked to see her license but Mathews reportedly laughed and replied that she had no license.She reportedly produced an ID from another state.The deputy said Mathews had an odor of an alcoholic beverage on her person, and that she admitted to having consumed some beer.Mathews reportedly submitted to, but performed poorly on, field sobriety tasks.The sheriff said that she did not consent to a voluntary blood withdrawal, so a forced blood draw was taken as per state law.She allegedly was found to have a marijuana pipe in her possession as well.A computer check of her license revealed that they were suspended in February 2007.Her bond is $6,500 and she will be in court on May 23.Meanwhile, 28-year-old Carly Chaundra Jones was charged with driving under the influence on April 6.She was also cited for failure to maintain her lane of travel and violation of the financial responsibility law.Ray said a deputy responding to a one-vehicle accident on Highway 56 north in the area of Jewel's Market found Jones to be the driver of the wrecked vehicle.The officer said that she had an odor of an alcoholic beverage on her person, was very unsteady on her feet, and her speech was slurred.Jones allegedly told the officer that she had taken Xanax and consumed some beer.She submitted to, but performed poorly on, several field sobriety tasks.She also submitted to a blood alcohol/drug test.Her bond is $1,500, and she will be in court on April 25.Carl Edward Schwartz, 29, of Dowelltown, was cited for driving on a revoked license on April 4.Ray said a drug detective saw Schwartz pull out of the DeKalb Market parking lot.The deputy had prior knowledge that Schwartz's license were revoked for a DUI from a previous arrest about a month before.A computer check confirmed his suspicions.Schwartz will appear in court on April 25.Juliann Marie Clark, 24, was cited for simple possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia on April 8. Ray said a drug detective conducted a search of Clark's residence after she admitted to smoking marijuana.He allegedly found a small baggie of marijuana on a television stand, a marijuana pipe in Clark's purse, a used hypodermic needle in a bedroom, and a pill crusher in a small bag.She will appear in court on April 25.
