Sheriff's Department arrests four more on Grand Jury indictments

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department picked up four more people this week as a result of last week’s indictments.Deputies arrested Michael Stewart Brown, 36, of McMinnville, on Feb 6.Brown is charged with sale of a Schedule III drug in a drug-free zone, and delivery of a Schedule III in drug-free zone.His bond is set at $30,000 and his court date is Feb 24.Also arrested on Feb. 6 was Teddy Allen Snipes, 35, on two counts of sale of a --Schedule IV drug and delivery of a Schedule IV drug.His bond is $40,000 and he will be in court on Feb 24.Dennis Charles (Porky) Ellis, 50, was also arrested on Feb.6 as a result of an indictment and charged with sale of a Schedule II drug and delivery of a Schedule II drug.He is under a $30,000 bond and will be in court on Feb. 24.Samuel Wade Walker, 33, was not only arrested on a sealed indictment for sale of a Schedule II drug and delivery of a Schedule II drug, but was also charged along with 29-year-old Nathan Joe Trapp in a theft of property case.According to the sheriff, Trapp and Walker entered the property at Smithville Rental on Feb. 2 and took metal racks weighing 940 pounds without the owner’s consent.The two then allegedly sold the racks to a local recycler, resulting in charges of theft of property over $1,000 for each of the men.Walker’s bond is 30,000 bond and his court date is Feb. 24.Trapp is under a $5,000 bond and will be in court on Feb 16.In other news from the Sheriff’s Department, 34-year-old Joseph Eric Kile was arrested on Feb. 9 for a violation of probation, and deputies discovered that he was a violent sex offender who had been in DeKalb County for more than a week without registering with local authorities.Kile’s bond is $25,000 and his court date is set for Feb. 16.Meanwhile, 20-year-old Vic-toria Chantel Tate was charged with assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct on Feb. 9 after an incident on the courthouse square in which she allegedly tried to attack a jail inmate.Corrections officers walking inmates back to the jail after court allegedly met with Tate when she came running toward one of the inmates shouting.The sheriff said her actions caused public alarm and safety issues.The assault charge came when Tate reportedly attempted to physically force her way past officers to get to the inmate.She copped the charge of resisting when she reportedly struggled with the deputy who attempted to cuff her.Tate’s bond is $4,500 and her court date is Feb. 23.Scotty Dale Farmer, 35, was arrested on Feb. 10 on charges that he entered a local residence on Jan. 18 and took jewelry and other items illegally.Farmer was charged with aggravated burglary and theft over $500 after authorities say he entered the residence with intent to commit a felony by prying open a back door.He allegedly took two diamond rings, two silver rings and an ipod touch with a total value of more than $500Farmer is under a $10,000 bond and his court date is set for Feb. 16.Clay Andrew Bain, 20,was cited for possession of alcohol by a minor after deputies reportedly discovered an open can of Keystone Light beer in his cupholder after he was in-volved in an accident on Lakeview Drive.His court date is March 22.
