A series of domestic incidents were handled by the sheriff’s department this past week as part of the sheriff’s crime report.
Included in citations and arrests made by the county:

Wesley Lynn Chandler, 40, of Page Drive is charged with domestic assault. His court date is May 17.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, the crime happened on April 11 at 11:30 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to a residence on Page Drive to investigate a physical domestic incident. The lawman spoke to the woman who said her boyfriend, had been abusing her throughout the day and that he punched her in the nose. When asked if anything physical had occurred between them prior to the 911 call she reportedly told the officer “we may have gotten into a scuffle”. Chandler was found to have been the primary aggressor and was placed under arrest.

Troy Eugene Martin, 39, of Lee Braswell Road was charged with domestic assault. His arraignment is April 26.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, a deputy responded to a call on Short Mountain Highway in reference to a domestic assault. He spoke with a woman who had red marks, knots and blood on the top and back of her head, and scratches on her left forearm. The woman said her boyfriend, Martin, assaulted her.

Robert Grady Cox, 30, of Old Snow Hill Road in Dowelltown is charged with domestic assault. His court date is April 26.
Sheriff Ray revealed a deputy responded to South Mountain Street to answer a domestic altercation on Old Snow Hill Road. The officer spoke with a woman who said she and her boyfriend got into a verbal altercation and he hit her with an open hand across the left side of her face causing redness and bruising. She was unable to call for help that night but reported it later.

Nikita Clark, 31, of Patterson Road in Smithville was cited for possession of schedule II and IV controlled substances. Sheriff Ray reported a deputy found in Clark’s possession a book bag containing six green pills believed to be Xanax and a small baggie with one white pill thought to be Hydrocodone.

Rickie Edward Turner, 65, of Smithville was charged with DUI and violation of the implied consent law. His court date is April 26.
Sheriff Ray said that on Saturday, April 7 at 3:37 a.m., a deputy stopped his Chevrolet Malibu because a brake light was out. The officer reported smelling a strong odor of alcohol on the driver. Turner told the officer he had consumed three drinks. The officer noted that Turner was unsteady on his feet and refused to submit to field sobriety tasks or give blood for a test resulting in the extra charge of violation of the implied consent law.

Jimmy Lee Herman, 37, of Estie Griffith Road in Warren County was charged with driving on a revoked license and was cited for straying from his lane of travel. His court date is April 26.
Sheriff Ray reported on April 14 a deputy saw a car failing to maintain its lane of travel on Midway Road. The officer stopped the car on Adcock Cemetery Road and spoke with the driver. A license check of his license revealed that they have been revoked since 2017 in Warren County where he had been convicted for DUI.
