Several arrests and citations were made by sheriff’s deputies this past week. Included in county crime:
Bryan B. Roberts, 41, has been charged with resisting arrest, public intoxication and vandalism. His charges come after residents on Midway Road reported someone was walking through their yards. Deputies arrived to find a drunk Roberts.
“He was unsteady on his feet and fell in a ditch multiple times,” said Sheriff Patrick Ray, noting Roberts made things worse when he jerked away from officers and had to be taken to the ground to be placed in custody.
Once at the jail, Roberts got more charges when he allegedly broke off a sprinkler head and flooded his cell and much of the booking room. He will be in court June 14.
Tyler Wayne Murphy, 21, is charged with breaking into the same residence two times. His charges come after lawmen say he entered a residence on Whorton Springs, stealing $760 worth of guns and then came back later to steal a holster and ammunition. Most of the stolen goods have been recovered.
Regina Valdez, 45, is charged with domestic assault for hitting her husband. The arresting deputy said he investigated a domestic disturbance and learned that Valdez and her husband had been fussing about him allegedly cheating. The victim said his wife then came at him, hitting him in the arm several times. She was found to be the primary aggressor and was arrested. She will be in court on June 28.
Christy Jean Martin, 33, is charged with hit and run. Her charges come after she side-swiped another motorist on New Home Road. The victim said Martin got out of her car briefly and that she recognized her. Martin then fled the scene.
Jacob R. Stacy, 18, is charged with assault for assaulting another inmates while inside DeKalb County Jail. The assault was confirmed by video surveillance footage that showed him hitting the other inmate with his fists. His court date is July 5.
Tamara M. Dodson, 31, and Scott G. Pedigo, 51, are charged with possession of meth. Pedigo is also charged with drunk driving. Deputies responded to McMinnville Highway where they found Pedigo sitting at gas pumps, passed out. He was slumped over. A search of his person and that of his passenger produced meth.
Joseph W. Knuff, 36, is charged with fifth-offense driving on a revoked license. He was arrested after a deputy pulled him over for failing to maintain his lane of travel and discovered he was driving on a revoked license.
Billie J. Morris, 45, was cited for simple possession of drugs and will appear in court on June 14. Deputies were dispatched to Neal Drive to investigate a report of a trespasser. They found Morris there when they arrived and searched her. Officers for .3 grams of meth and 1.8 grams of marijuana on her person.
Riley Cade Sixton, 18, was cited for simple possession of drugs. Deputies went to County House Road to answer the call of cars blocking the road. They found Sixton’s Nissan blocking the road. A search of his vehicle netted a cigar containing marijuana. He will be in court on June 28.
