A shoplifting accusation that proved to be false resulted in a local woman being busted for meth recently.
Shauna Renee Taylor, 46, was arrested on June 9 and charged with methamphetamine-manufacture, deliver, sell possession and cited for drug paraphernalia.
Police responded to a shoplifting call where the subject had already left the premises upon their arrival. An officer later made contact with the vehicle and subject described, and was given consent to search. Less than a half ounce of methamphetamine was found, and a glass pipe was found in Taylor's purse. The shoplifting was determined to be unfounded.
Her bond was set at $5,000, and she will appear in court on June 29.
Meanwhile Kanday Kay Fish, 52, was arrested for DUI on June 2.
Police said an off-duty officer observed Fish crossing the yellow and white lines on South Congress Boulevard. He was able to get her to pull over into Discount Tobacco Outlet parking lot and contacted an on duty officer.
Upon police arrival, the officer observed that Fish was unsteady on her feet. She was asked and consented to field sobriety tasks, which she performed poorly.
Her bond is $1,500, and she appeared in court on June 15.
Anna Swiney Warren, 41, was arrested on June 3 for domestic assault.
Police were called to a residence concerning an assault. An investigation determined that Warren had been drinking, and she and the victim were arguing when it became physical. Warren allegedly pushed the victim into a door frame, leaving a bruise on the right side of the victim's head. The victim also had a bruise on the left elbow from the attack.
Her bond is $1,500, and she appeared in court on June 15.
William Ray Cantrell, 50, was arrested on June 6 for driving while revoked and cited for driver license violation, light law, and financial responsibility.
Police initiated a routine stop for a traffic violation and made contact with the driver, who was identified as Cantrell. A computer check revealed that Cantrell's license was revoked indefinitely due to a DUI in 2015.
His bond is $1,500, and he will appear in court on June 22.
Lou Ann Sanders, 48, was arrested on June 8 for domestic assault.
Police responded to a domestic disturbance and spoke with the parties involved. Upon investigation, it was determined that they were arguing and Sanders grabbed the victim by the arms and neck and dragged him outside of the residence, leaving visible marks on his neck, arms, and chest area.
Her bond was set at $2,500, and she will appear in court on June 29.
Rickey Lynn Martin, 36, was cited for shoplifting on June 10.
Police responded to Wal-Mart where it was discovered that Martin had allegedly pulled the tags off a new pair of boots and walked around inside of the store for approximately 40 minutes. The boots that Martin had worn into the store were found hidden under a shoe shelf.
He will appear in court on July 13.
Angelina Marie Farley, 37, was arrested for aggravated assault on June 11.
Police responded to a domestic situation where it was determined that Farley knowingly put the victim in fear for his life by producing a knife and stating that she would stab him.
Her bond was set at $5,000, and she will appear in court on June 29.
Steven Darrell Bly, 33, was cited on 6/14/17 for criminal trespass on June 14.
Bly was reportedly discovered at a residence on Bell Street. He had been informed earlier not to be on the property.
He will appear in court on June 29.
Gerald R Kier, 44, was arrested for theft of property on June 15.
Kier was allegedly seen on Wal-Mart video surveillance removing a blue tooth speaker and earphones from the original packaging and hiding the product in his pants. He was also seen on surveillance attempting to remove a wireless speaker which he did not successfully remove, but damaged the packaging.
His bond was set at $1,500, and he will appear in court on June 29.
