Abigail Hope Taylor emerged from a field of four to become the 2018 DeKalb County Fairest of the Fair.
The 17-year-old daughter of Ken and Cindy Taylor of Smithville, she was crowned Fairest following the pageant held Monday night, the opening evening of the annual exposition in Alexandria. In addition to winning Fairest of the Fair, she was also named Most Photogenic.
The 2017 Fairest, 19-year-old Tyra Grace Graham, crowned Taylor Monday night. Graham is the daughter of Kyle and Doris Graham of Smithville,
Joining Taylor on the Fairest Court are first runner up, Destiny Franklin, 19-year-old daughter of Jennifer and Charlie Ware of Smithville; second runner-up, Abby Marie Evans, 17-year-old daughter of Amanda Mathis of Smithville; third runner-up, Susan Marie Webb, 19-year-old daughter of C.D. and Cindy Webb of Dowelltown. She was also voted Miss Congeniality.
Kenlee Renae Taylor, the 13-year-old daughter of Ken and Cindy Taylor of Smithville, was named Junior Fair Princess. She was also named Miss Congeniality. She emerged from a field of 12 girls, ages 13-16, to be named Junior Princess. She was crowned by Ellisyn Kelsey Cripps, 15, daughter of Troy and Jamie Cripps of Smithville, the 2017 Junior Princess.
First runner-up was Monica Mashay Carlton, the 15-year-old daughter of Leroy and Amanda Hale and Travis and Toni Carlton of Smithville; second runner-up, Addison Jean Puckett, 14-year-old daughter of Jimmy and Anita Puckett of Smithville; third runner up, Caitlin Elizabeth Bennett, 16-year-old daughter of Gene and Dava Bennett of Dowelltown. She was also named Most Photogenic; fourth runner-up was Mackenzie Leigh Sprague, 14-year-old daughter of Wanda Sprague of Smithville.
