Smithville Police Chief Randy Caplinger announced last week that the city police department and the fire department will host a meet and greet Thursday night in the upstairs meeting room at City Hall.Caplinger said that the meeting will be an open forum, and all citizens will be allowed to voice any concerns, or ask any questions they might have about the police department.The event, called "Night Out with the Police and Fire Departments," will begin at 7 p.m.According to the chief, "Night Out with the Police and Fire Departments" will allow the public an opportunity to meet personally with members of the police and fire departments and express any concerns or opinions they might have.“It will be a meet-and-greet affair to allow the public to interact with the fire and police departments,” Caplinger told the Review, “People will have a chance to express their opinions and state any concerns they may have.”Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be given away.
