Incumbent Timothy (Fud) Banks will face opposition in the race for Assessor of Property next year.
The contest will be held in tandem with the March 6 DeKalb County Democratic Primary.
According to Election Commissioner Dennis Stanley, Banks, Scott Cantrell, and Jonathan Bryan Keith have all picked up qualifying petitions from the Election Commission Office.
The candidates for property assessor, as well as candidates for the seven constable offices face a qualifying deadline of noon, Dec.8.
Incumbent constables Paul Cantrell (4th district), Wayne Vanderpool (3rd district) and Mark Milam (5th district) have returned their petitions to qualify for re-election to the election commission.
Incumbent constable Johnny King (7th district), and Richard Bullard (6th district) have picked up petitions, but have not returned the qualifying paperwork as of Monday.
Potential candidates for these offices may still acquire the necessary paperwork from the election commission office, but must have all required documents turned back in by the Dec. 8 noon deadline.
