A 32-year-old Smithville man was taken into custody by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, charged with being a fugitive from justice in Florida.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, Michael Frederick Teachout was arrested on May 19 after a deputy was dispatched to a residence on Students Home Road to check out reports of a wanted man on the premises.
Upon arrival the officer found Teachout at the home. A computer check through central dispatch revealed that Teachout was wanted in Dade County, Georgia for possession of cocaine, marijuana, and possession and use of drug related objects.
His bond is $75,000, and he will be in court on June 8.
