Teen arrested on same-sex rape indictment

The sheriff’s department has arrested a Carthage teen named in a May sealed indictment for rape, burglary, auto burglary, two counts of theft under $1,000, and two counts of vandalism.

 

According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, Jacob Randall Stacy, 18, was a juvenile at the time of the offenses, but his case was transferred to criminal court after he turned 18. Stacy was previously in the custody of the Department of Children Services.

 

The indictment on the charge of rape alleges that in October of last year, Stacy intentionally and/or knowingly engaged in unlawful sexual penetration of another male without his consent, constituting the offense of rape.

 

Stacy also allegedly entered the Mount Zion Baptist Church, not open to the public, with the intent to commit theft last October as well. He allegedly stole food items with a value of under $1,000 from the church, and caused damage to an interior door and two window screens.

 

He also allegedly entered a 1995 Ford F-250 pickup truck with the intent to commit a theft, constituting the offense of burglary of a motor vehicle on the same day. Stacy allegedly stole personal checks, chewing tobacco from the truck, and a 10-foot trailer valued at less than $1,000 constituting the offense of theft under $1,000. He reportedly damaged the dashboard and ignition of the truck as well.

 

His bonds total $55,000, and his court date is July 24.
