Teen charged with hitting his mother

Riley Cade Sexton, 18, of Smithville was arrested Sunday for domestic assault after allegedly hitting his mother with a microphone stand at her residence on McMinnville Highway.

According to DeKalb County Sheriff Patrick Ray, on Sunday, Feb. 11, a DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputy responded to McMinnville Hwy. for a report of a domestic between a mother and son. Upon arrival the deputy spoke to the mother who stated that her son, Sexton, got into an argument and allegedly hit her with a microphone stand. Sexton admitted to pushing his mother down at the scene. Deputies witnessed a red line on his mother’s back where she was hit by the microwave stand.

He is being held on a $1,500 bond with a court date of March 1.

Inmate at DeKalb County Jail turns out to be fugitive from Arkansas

Timothy Allen Presley, 57, was in custody at the DeKalb County Jail when, according to DeKalb County Sheriff Patrick Ray, a check was run through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) before he was released. The check showed Presley was wanted on charges in Crawford County, Ark. for failure to appear on a $15,000 bond related to charges against him there.

Arkansas requested Presley be extradited and he is being further held at the DeKalb County Jail until such time arrangements can be made.
