Teenager arrested for head butting deputy

A head butt has landed a local teen in jail after he used his head as a weapon during drunken brawl with officers who were trying to take him into custody on public intoxication charges.The suspect, Shaun David Lee, 18, is charged with assault, resisting arrest and public intoxication. He will be arraigned on the misdemeanor counts Sept. 20.His charges come after a deputy approached him, suspecting the teen may be under the influence of an intoxicant.“He was unsteady on his feet and had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on his person,” Sheriff Patrick Ray reported, noting the officer spied the teen walking down the road and suspected something was amiss by the way he was walking.The deputy decided to arrest the teen for public intoxication given his condition and began to pat the suspect down. “During the search, he began to fight the officer,” the sheriff said.“He head butted the deputy’s left cheek bone and eye causing bodily injury to the officer.”The deputy was able to take the teen to the ground and place him under arrest after being head butted by the suspect.
