A three-car collision on Highway 56 South Saturday afternoon resulted in two 16-year-old girls being airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center. According to Trooper Jeremy Wilhite of the THP, 57-year-old Kenneth Lattimore was stopped waiting to turn left onto Blue Springs Road in a 2005 Nissan to make a left turn onto Old Blue Springs Road. Christopher Barrett, 42, of Rock Island was behind him in a Toyota pickup, also stopped. The trooper said the two minors, who he did not identify, collided with the back of Barrett’s truck in a 2012 Toyota Corolla, apparently driving the truck into Lattimore’s car. The Review later learned that the two girls were Taneah Cantrell and Keri Sanders. Lattimore was uninjured, and Barrett was taken to DeKalb Community Hospital in a private vehicle. The two teenagers were taken by DeKalb EMS to DeKalb Community Hospital, and later airlifted to Nashville.
