Tennesseans for Student Success, together with Tristar Reads, invites Tennessee’s returning students to celebrate their summer reading success. By logging their cumulative summer reading hours at TristarReads.com, students will be eligible to win one of three $1,000 college scholarships.

“Summer reading has been a focus of state and community leaders as well as education advocacy groups,” said Tennesseans for Student Success President and CEO Adam Lister. “We launched Tristar Reads last year to help encourage Tennessee’s kids to keep reading and to invite students to spend a few minutes every day reading a book. There’s great value in reading 20 minutes a day throughout the year and teachers share with us the need for reading to continue over the summer.

Lister continued: “By hosting reading times online, holding family giveaways, and highlighting local authors, Tristar Reads has kept reading at the top of the to-do list for Tennessee’s kids this summer. As they head back to school, we want them to know the story isn’t over yet. With the remining few weeks left in the Tristar Reads program, students, teachers, or parents can still log any student reading hours at TristarReads.com.”

The scholarship contest through Tristar Reads will run until September 1st. For more information, visit TristarReads.com.
