After investigations by sheriff’s detectives and deputies, three women were arrested on separate forgery charges last week.
Molly Sue Lawrence, 27, was charged with one count of forgery on Jan. 6.

Melinda Beth Murphy, 29, was charged with two counts of forgery on Jan. 8.

Jo Ann Luna, 39 was charged with one count of forgery and one count of resisting stop, frisk, halt, or arrest on Jan. 8.
Ray said that Luna presented a forged check at the same store in Liberty in the amount of $200, and a deputy saw her attempt to cash the check. As the officer attempted to place her in custody, Luna reportedly tried to pull away from him in an attempt to avoid arrest.
Her bond is set at $6,500, and she will appear in court on Jan. 22.
Dustin Matthew Brewer, 26, was charged with being a fugitive from justice on Jan. 7.
According to the sheriff, Brewer, who had a parole absconded warrant against him from Michigan, was found at a residence on Barnes Mill Road. The warrant was confirmed through the National Crime Information Center and he was arrested and held without bond.
Brewer made a court appearance on Jan. 8 and signed a waiver of extradition, giving Michigan authorities 10 days to pick him up.
Meanwhile, Brewer’s alleged girlfriend, Brandi Louise Murphy-Proffer was charged with criminal impersonation in a related incident.
Sheriff Ray said that Tuesday, January 6 a sheriff's department detective went to an address on Jefferson Road to conduct an investigation and spoke with a woman who identified herself as Lonnie Lykens. The detective later learned that she had lied about her name because she had warrants against her from Michigan.
She eventually revealed her identity and was placed under arrest. Her bond is set at $1,500, and she will appear in court on Jan. 29.
Eric Dewayne Judkins, 23, has been charged with two counts of theft of property under $500.
Ray said that Judkins went to an auto parts store in Smithville on Nov. 18 and charged an ignition coil for $84.50 to another person’s account. The next day, Judkins allegedly charged an ignition control module costing $115. 23 to another person’s account. The cases were investigated by a sheriff's department detective.
His bond was set at $5,000, and he will appear in court on Jan. 29.
Amanda Marie Hatfield, 23, was charged with domestic assault on Jan. 10.
A deputy dispatched to a Kings Court home to investigate a domestic dispute reportedly spoke with a man who said he and his wife, Hatfield, had gotten into an argument over her demanding to see his phone. The man said when he refused to give her his phone, Hatfield got on top of him and grabbed him around the neck.
He then pushed her away and went to call for help. The man had red finger marks and scratches on both sides of his neck. Hatfield was determined to have been the primary aggressor, and she was brought to the jail for booking.
Warren county authorities also had a hold on her for separate offenses. After she made bond here, Hatfield was taken to Warren County. Her bond was set at $2,500, and she will appear in court on Jan. 15.
