A one-car crash on Smith Road Thursday sent three people to the hospital. According to Smithville City Police, Regina Stone, 49, and her passengers, 37-year-old James Hesson and 37-year-old Michelle Taylor were all transported to DeKalbCommunity Hospital by DeKalb EMS with non-life threatening injuries. According to the report by  Officer Lance Dillard, Stone was driving north when she claimed an oncoming vehicle entered her lane of travel, causing her to leave the roadway in an attempt to avoid a collision. Her  2011 Chevy Cruz collided with a utility pole, snapping the pole in two. Members of the Smithville Police Department, the Smithville Volunteer Fire Department assisted atb the scene, and a Smithville Electric System crew was deispatched to replace the broken pole, and downed utility lines.
