Tickets for the Smithville Rotary Club Fish Fry, set for Oct. 1, are now on sale.
The event will be held at Greenbrook Park in Smithville, and proceeds from the event, the clubs sole fundraiser, will go to support community youth scholarships and projects for the elderly throughout the year, the club also supports worldwide polio eradication.
"The Rotary Fish Fry is a staple in our community," said Smithville rotary Club President Clint Hall. "Not only is it a great time to visit with friends and eat some great fish, but the money raised goes toward helping people right here in DeKalb County. Last year, the Smithville Rotary Club gave out over $3,000 in scholarships to graduating DCHS seniors, supported students attending Tennessee Boys State and Girls State, supported local Boy Scout Troop 347, distributed groceries to elderly shut-ins during the Christmas holidays, and supported many other worthwhile projects in DeKalb County. All of this was possible through the proceeds from the Fish Fry."
Tickets for the fish fry are available at the Review office, Center Hill Realty, Wilson Bank and Trust in Smithville, First Bank in Smithville, or from any member of the club.
