Ricky Lynn Martin, 36, was arrested on June 29 for criminal trespass and shoplifting, and cited for simple possession.
Smithville police said they responded to Walmart for a possible shoplifter, and upon arrival observed Martin checking out at a register. After his purchase, the officer made contact with him and reminded him that he had written Martin a citation on June 10 for shoplifting and advised him to not be back on the property.
Martin was arrested for criminal trespassing, and a search allegedly revealed unpaid items belonging to Walmart on his person, a crystal-like substance which tested positive for methamphetamine and a white/peach gel pill believed to be morphine.
His bond is $4,000, and his court date is July 13.
Meanwhile, Tyrone Dwayne Owens, 41, was arrested for DUI and cited for two counts of simple possession on July 5.
Police responded for two people passed out in a car in a church parking lot. Upon arrival the officer made contact with Owens and observed the passenger to be passed out in the passenger seat.
Owens' speech was a bit slurred and he seemed very drowsy. One witness spotted the car and noticed Owens to be passed out with the brake lights lit and the car still running. Another witness confirmed the car was running with Owens' in the driver seat and that he (witness) turned the car off and took the keys out of the ignition.
Another officer on the scene allegedly spotted a joint in the driver's side door arm rest and then searched the car. Owens was asked and consented to field sobriety tasks, which he performed poorly.
During a search, the officer pulled Owens’ wallet out of his back pocket and a yellow rectangular pill thought to be Alprazolam fell out. Upon closer inspection of the wallet, a white barrel shaped pill thought to be methadone and another yellow rectangular pill believed to be Alprazolam was discovered.
Amy Jo Scott, 41, was arrested on July 17 for DUI 3rd, driving on revoked, and was cited for simple possession.
Police responded to a lockout call, and before unlocking the vehicle the officer ran the tag to confirm that Scott was the owner. Central Dispatch did confirm that she was the owner of the vehicle and also that her driver's license was revoked.
After unlocking the vehicle, the officer left the location and approximately two minutes later the officer saw Scott driving on Tommy Harrell Street. He pulled the vehicle over and again made contact with Scott informing her that he stopped her due to the knowledge of her having a revoked driver's license.
Scott's speech was allegedly slurred and her eyes appeared to be very heavy. She was asked and consented to sobriety tasks, which she performed poorly.
Scott was then placed under arrest for DUI and driving on revoked, and a search of her vehicle reportedly revealed two round blue pills in a small plastic bag believed to be Clonazepam. After being transported to the police department, Scott allegedly asked to use the restroom, and while in the restroom dropped a pill in the floor.
Upon questioning, she reportedly produced a metal container with 11 red and white capsule type pills identified as 75mg Lyrica. Scott couldn't provide a prescription for any of the medication she had. Her bond is $7,500, and her court date is July 20.
Rachel Irene Patterson, 18, was cited for simple possession and drug paraphernalia on July 1.
Patterson was being questioned concerning an incident that happened elsewhere, and she was reportedly asked and gave consent to a search her vehicle. Found in the back seat with approximately one gram of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana and a glass pipe believed to be used to smoke the marijuana. Her court date is July 20.
Eric L Atnip, 41, was arrested on June 2 for violation of an order of protection.
Police responded to a report of an unwanted guest and made contact with Atnip and the victim inside the residence. A full protection order was ordered in DeKalb County General Sessions Court ordering Atnip from having any contact with the victim on April 27.
His bond is $2,500, and he will appear in court on July 13.
