Two charged in Oak Drive burglary

The sheriff’s department has arrested two people who allegedly broke into an Oak Drive home on Oct. 11.
Don Diamond Groshon, 41, and Lynda Michelle Neville, 37, were charged with aggravated burglary and theft of property over $1,000 in connection with the break in.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, Neville and Groshon entered the residence by removing a window. The pair then allegedly took two push mowers, a full DVD case, a knife, a cell phone, a VCR-DVD player, a video game console and games, several power tools and other items with a total value of more than $1,000.
The sheriff said Neville and Groshon admitted to officers that they committed the crimes. Bond for both was set at $10,000, and they will appear in court on Nov. 7.
Meanwhile, 60-year-old Virginia Diane Presnell was charged with filing a false report on Oct. 8.
According to the sheriff, a deputy was attempting to serve a warrant on Robert Nichols, Jr. at Presnell’s home. when the lawman asked Presnell if Nichols was there, she allegedly told him that Nichols was not at the residence several times.
After Presnell gave officers consent to search, Nichols was reportedly found inside the home. She was arrested and charged for lying to the deputies.
Her bond was set at $1,500, and she will appear in court on Nov. 7.
Floyd Caulder, 49 was charged with violation of an order of protection after allegedly sending threatening text messages to a woman he had been ordered not to contact.
Ray said Judge Bratten Cook, II signed an order of protection against Caulder on Oct. 10. He allegedly violated the order the next day.
According to the sheriff, Caulder sent the woman, who was in a safe house at the time, several threatening text messages on Oct. 11.
His bond was set at $2,500, and he will appear in court on Oct. 17.
Earl Dyer, Jr., 47, was charged with domestic assault on Oct. 7.
Ray said that Dyer allegedly assaulted his 17-year-old nephew by extending a service baton, pointing it at him, and then pushing him with the it. Dyer reportedly told the deputy sent to investigate the call  that he was only trying to scare his nephew with the baton.
Catherine Claudette Lasser, 38, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon on Oct. 12.
Ray said central dispatch received a call concerning a woman with a loaded handgun on Briarwood Court. A deputy dispatched to the location reportedly spotted Lasser coming out of a residence.
She reportedly got into a vehicle and started the engine. Lasser's husband then reportedly drove up behind the deputy and asked the officer if he had taken the gun from her.  a search of the vehicle reportedly revealed a .40 caliber handgun on the passenger side floorboard.
Her bond was set at $1,000 and she will appear in court on Oct. 31.
