A local man was captured by sheriff’s deputies on Oct. 21 after allegedly leaving his personal effects behind at the scene of a burglary.
Forty-four-year-old William Elton Eisenmann of Smithville was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary and aggravated theft of property after authorities say he entered a residence on Eagle Creek Road after cutting a screen from a window on Oct. 13.
He reportedly took a pair of Reebok tennis shoes, a Levi shirt and a bath towel, all valued at less than $500.
Eisenmann apparently left his cell phone, phone card and a knife behind after leaving the residence.
His bond was set at $7,500 and he is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 27.
Joshua Lynne Beaty, 24, has been charged with two counts of theft of property over $1,000 in a case involving the theft of a van.
Beaty allegedly took the van from a residence on New Home Road without the owner’s consent and sold it to a local scrap yard on Aug. 24.
The vehicle was valued at $3,000.
Also on Aug. 24, Beaty allegedly took several items from a residence on Bluhmtown Road without the owner’s consent.
Items taken included a tractor engine, tractor radiator, washer, stove, clothing rack, double-bottom turning plow and a 1,500 piece Craftsman tool set.
Beaty also took these items to a local scrap yard. The items have a value of $4,650.
Beaty was arrested Oct. 20, and his total bond is $15,000. He will appear in court Oct. 27.
Meanwhile, a Smithville man has been charged with two counts of reckless endangerment and driving under the influence after leaving two wrecked vehicles in his wake on a drunken joyride.
Leonel Rodriguez Sanchez was arrested and charged on Oct. 23 after he was stopped while driving a vehicle which had been involved two accidents.
Sanchez allegedly ran motorists off the road on both Old Blue Springs Road and Highway 56 during the incident.
His license number was reported to 911, and his vehicle was later found wrecked on Cecil Hale Road.
He was charged with one count of reckless endangerment for each wreck.
He has a total bond of $12,500, and he is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 27.
Along with these charges, Sanchez was written citations for not having a drivers license, not having a registration in his vehicle and not having insurance, as well as being charged under the implied consent law after refusing to take an alcohol blood test.
He was also cited for having an open container in his vehicle.
Deputies report that Sanchez had an odor of alcohol on his breath and was unsteady on his feet.
He was unable to perform field sobriety tasks, and refused to have a blood alcohol test.
Mejia Pastor of Good Ridge Road, Woodbury, was charged with first offense driving under the influence after he was stopped on Hwy. 70 for swerving from his lane of travel on Oct. 22.
Pastor submitted to a blood test but refused to do field sobriety tasks.
His bond was set at $1,500, and he will appear in court Nov. 3.
Twenty-one-year old Luis Alfonso Rubalcava-Romo of Smithville was charge with first offense driving under the influence after he was stopped on Oct. 22 on Hghway 70 for violation of the light law.
Upon stopping the vehicle, the officer detected a strong scent of alcohol.
Rubalcava-Romo reportedly performed poorly on several field sobriety tasks, and also submitted to a blood test.
Citations were also written for no drivers license, and an open container, violation of the light law, because his vehicle had no tail lights, and violation of the financial responsibility law.
His bond was set at $1,500, and he is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 27.
