Two escape injury in Alexandria crash

Two men escaped injury in this one-vehicle accident in Alexandria Monday. According to Alexandria Police Chief Chris Russell, central dispatch received a call about a motor vehicle crash on Edgewood Street at approximately 11:48 a.m. members of the Alexandria Police Department, Alexandria Fire Department, DeKalb Fire and Rescue and DeKalb EMS responded to the scene. Extrication team members stabilized the vehicle utilizing a winch and removed the two occupants. Russell said the 2008 Ford F350, pulling a utility trailer and driven by 61-year-old Joseph Dayton of Carthage, was traveling north on Edgewood Street and ran through standing water from heavy rains. The driver lost control and the vehicle left the roadway on the right side, went off a bridge, and landed on the right side. The driver nor his passenger, 46-year-old Robert Wade of Brush Creek were injured.
