Two people apparently escaped with minor bumps and bruises when the 2013 Mustang they were traveling in left the roadway and came to rest under a bridge Sunday. Captain Steven Leffew of the Smithville Police Department told the Review that Christal Cantrell, 44, of Murfreesboro was headed east with a passenger, 36-year-old Matthew Phillips of Smyrna when she lost control of the car and broke a utility pole guidewire before careening down a creek bank and and under a bridge at Anthony Avenue and Highway 70. Cantrell reportedly told the captain that the accident took place because she and Phillips were arguing.
