Two men were injured in a one vehicle crash Sunday on Old Mill Road in Dowelltown. Twenty-three year-old Joseph Barrett of Morrison and twenty-four year-old David Hutchins of Smithville were traveling south on Old Mill Hill Road in a GMC Ciara pickup when the driver, Barrett, failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a large tree. Barrett was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released. Hutchins was taken by EMS and later flown to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. Barrett was charged with DUI, violation of the implied consent law, driving on suspended third offense, failure to exercise due care, not wearing a seatbelt, expired registration and financial responsibility no insurance.
