ASHFORD

Two arrests were made last week in the October burglary of a home on Skyline Drive.
Ricky Allen Ashford, 33, and an unidentified 16-year-old male were charged with aggravated burglary and theft of property over $1,000.
Ashford was additionally charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and violation of probation.
His bond totals $23,500 and he will be in court on Dec. 1.
Ashford allegedly broke into a residence at Skyline Drive on Oct. 15 by using a credit card to jimmie the door lock.
The juvenile, who was with Ashford during the incident, was charged under a juvenile petition as a delinquent for burglary and theft.
Authorities say the two took gold chains, a diamond ring, a wedding band, and other jewelry with a total value of over $1,000.
A sheriff’s department detective made the arrest on Thanksgiving Day.
Ashford was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor for allowing the juvenile to take part in the caper.
Violation of probation charges were lodged against Ashford because he failed to pay court costs in a previous case.
Ashford had been placed on probation after being convicted of two counts of attempted forgery.
He received 11 months 29 days in that case.
Records say that he still owes $904.58 in the case.
Meanwhile, Rodrigo Carrasco of Columbia, 24, was charged with a second offense of driving under the influence on Nov. 23.
He was also cited for not having a drivers license.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, a deputy was dispatched to check out reports of a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 70.
Callers reported that the vehicle was all over the roadway and doing doughnuts in the thoroughfare.
When authorities arrived, they found the vehicle on the side of the road with its flashers on.
Carrasco was behind the wheel, and a computer check revealed that he had no valid drivers license.
The deputy noticed that he had a strong odor of alcohol on his person and his speech was slurred.
When asked to step out of the vehicle he was judged to be very unsteady on his feet.
Officers were unable to perform field sobriety tasks because Carrasco could not speak English.
No blood alcohol test was taken because consent was impossible to obtain.
His bond is $2,500 and he will be in court on Dec. 8.
Mary Ann Hale, 30, was cited by the Sheriff’s Department for driving on a suspended license, violation of the light law, and violation of the financial responsibility law on Nov. 25.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, Hale's vehicle had been stopped because of a broken tail light when a deputy discovered that her drivers license were suspended and she did not have proof of insurance.
