Two people have qualified to run for the five available seats in Alexandria.The Alexandria Municipal Election, set for Sept. 5, will have one mayoral candidate and one candidate for alderman on the ballot.While the mayor’s office and three aldermanic seats are open, only one hopeful has returned a petition to run for the seat, and one candidate has qualified to run for three seats up for election at the alderman’s table.Jim H. York, Jr. has qualified to run for mayor.Pat Jackson is the sole candidate for alderman.The deadline to qualify for the election was at noon on June 20.
