Two people were wounded by gunfire in a Thursday night incident at a home on Earl Avenue.

Darrell Brown, 42, and 34-year-old Jennifer Arrington were both airlifted to Vanderbilt Hospital with gunshot wounds.The two had reportedly been arguing that day, and Arrington, concerned that Brown might try to harm himself with a hangun tried to intervene.

Sources said Brown fired one shot, wounding himself in the face. The shot apparently passed through and struck Arrington in the hand.

The case is under investigation by the Smithville Police Department
