Veterans and spouses of those who have served are encouraged to visit local VFW post 7623 on July 18 if they have any questions about benefits.According to Post Commander Ron Miller, the Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. at the VFW Post on Sparta Highway.All military veterans and their spouses are urged to attend.Interested parties should bring a copy of their DD214 (retirement of discharge form), and officials will help them learn more about what benefits they are entitled to.DeKalb County Service Officer Paul Cantrell, Sarah Tinch of Putnam County, and Jack Bussell and Matthew Elmore of White County are expected to be present to answer questions.For more information, call Ron Miller at 931-761-2307.
