Volunteer Tennessee will hold its quarterly business meeting on Friday, August 25, 2017, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. CDT in Franklin.
During the meeting, the Volunteer Tennessee board will name Miss Tennessee 2017, Caty Davis, as Honorary Chair of the board. As part of her duties as Honorary Chair, Davis will serve as the state-wide spokesperson for several volunteer initiatives, including the Tennessee Conference on Volunteerism and Service-Learning to be held March 11–13, 2018. The agenda for the meeting will also include committee meetings, work on Volunteer Tennessee’s 2016-18 State Plan and decisions on 2017-2018 AmeriCorps grant funding.
Volunteer Tennessee is a 25 member bipartisan board appointed by the Governor to encourage volunteerism and community service in Tennessee. Volunteer Tennessee pursues its mission through administration of AmeriCorps grants, training and collaborations and coalitions with public and private organizations interested in volunteerism and service.
