An Alexandria man faces domestic assault charges after he allegedly beat his stepfather Saturday night. Robert Earl Watley, Jr., 24, was charged with domestic assault and violation of an order of protection.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, Watley assaulted his step-father at a Possum Hollow Road home while the victim was in bed. Watley allegedly jumped on top of the man and struck him in the head with his fists, causing physical injuries.
The victim suffered a bruise to the forehead, a black right eye and a laceration to the forehead just above the left eye. He was treated for injuries at DeKalb Community Hospital and received five stitches.
Watley was determined to be the primary aggressor, and was charged with domestic assault.
Watley is charged with violating an order of protection for allegedly being at the residence while a woman who had obtained an order of protection against Watley last spring in a separate case.
The woman was apparently present at the home where the alleged beating occurred. The order of protection went into effect on April 17, 2013, and expires April 17, of this year.
His bond was set at $4,000, and he will appear in court on April 10.
Meanwhile, 38-year-old Michael Andrew Judkins of Old Bildad Road was charged with child abuse on March 4. He was arrested on March 7.
Ray said Judkins abused his step daughter by putting her on the ground, sitting on her head, and hitting her with a belt, causing bruises in the area of her right calf and buttocks.
His bond was set at $5,000 and he will appear in court on March 20.
