DeKalb County Democratic Party Chairman Jordan Wilkins attended the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia as a delegate for Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton.

Wilkins said his experience was a rich one.

"As I reflect back over this week, my heart is filled with joy,” Wilkins shared. “This experience as a delegate I will hold with me for the rest of my life, and I thank those in the Sixth District who made this moment possible. Hillary was the first candidate I ever took an interest in back in 2008. That made tonight that much more special for me. When the video started playing before Hillary's speech, tears of joy streamed down my face. For all the people she has inspired, this night is for us.”

Wilkins said he approved of Clinton’s nomination.

“This week the Democratic Party nominated Hillary Clinton, a progressive who gets things done and a fighter whose motto is no matter how many times you get knocked down, it only matters how many times you get back up,” he said. “She has dedicated her whole life to advocating for the rights of all people and she never gives up. The choice is clear this election year do we want to build on the progress we have made under President Obama or return to the failed policies and trickledown economics of the past? Do we want a leader who has the experience, temperament, and judgment to lead our country in times of a crisis, or do we want a leader who says he can fix everything himself, and insults those who are different than him? Do we want a President who builds bridges between people and breaks down barriers or one who builds walls and praises terrorists? My friends, the choice is clear: Hillary Clinton is an effective leader with a proven track record, and Donald Trump is a destructive bully who has left a trail of broken promises and bad business decisions that hurt people's lives. And for those Bernie Sanders supporters: this year the Democratic Party adopted a more progressive party platform than ever before. We may not agree on everything but our differences pale in comparison to Donald Trump, and that's why Bernie has endorsed Hillary and will do all he can to see that she is elected the next president of the United States.”

Wilkins said that he is totally behind the Clinton campaign.

“I'm With Her and her running mate Tim Kaine. It is imperative that we unite, organize and get out the vote to elect Democrats up and down the ballot this election year.”
