City police have arrested a local woman on drug charges twice in less than a month.

According to city police, the story began when Tammie Michelle Anderson, 44 was taken into custody along with a co-defendant, 35-year-old Rickey W. Murphy. The two were arrested for sale and delivery of a Schedule VI drug (marijuana).

Police said that officers went to Anderson’s home after receiving numerous complaints and information of illegal activity, and asked if they could search the premises. Upon obtaining consent, an officer allegedly found a bag of green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana, weighing 2.5 ounces, in Murphy and Anderson’s bedroom. Police said a box of baggies was found close by.

Also found in the home was a glass pipe used to smoke marijuana, reportedly belonging to Charles Nathan Pack, 19, who was cited for drug paraphernalia during the bust.

Then, on Feb. 3, Anderson was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to resale after allegedly purchasing oxycodone pills from Sherry Dawn Gibbs, 44.

Police said that Gibbs was pulled over in a traffic stop and found to be in possession of an empty prescription bottle. The prescription for 120 oxycodone was in Gibbs’ name, and had been filled on the day of the incident. Gibbs allegedly told police that she had sold the pills to Anderson for $747.00, which was seized.

Gibbs was charged with sale and delivery of a controlled substance and cited for traffic offenses, including a driver license and light law violation, and for violation of the financial responsibility law (no insurance).

Officers allegedly recovered the pills after going to Anderson’s home, and determined that she planned to resell them.

Anderson’s bond in the latest case was set at $60,000. She posted a $50,000 bond in the earlier case, which was revoked in General Sessions Court on Feb. 4. She will appear in court to answer the January charges on Feb. 11, and will face the latest charge on Feb. 18.

Bond for Gibbs was set at $10,000, and she will appear in court on Feb. 18 as well.

Meanwhile, Peggy Rochelle Bain, 42, was arrested and charged with simple possession of a Schedule II drug on Jan. 20.

Police responding to an assault complaint spoke with Bain at the scene. Police allegedly asked for and were given permission to search Bain’s person, and reportedly found 42 yellow pills believed to be Hydrocodone in her left jacket pocket. Bain apparently could not produce a prescription for the tablets.

Her bond was set at $2,000.

John Preston Senters, 34, was arrested for driving on a revoked license and cited for speeding on Jan. 20.

An officer reportedly clocked Senters’ vehicle traveling 57 mph in a 40 mph zone. When the officer stopped the vehicle a computer check revealed that his license was previously revoked for a DUI.

His bond was set at $1,500, and he will appear in court on Jan. 28.
