Among three people arrested 1/9/15 while city police were serving a warrant on one of the individuals was a woman who was charged with endangering a fetus.
Amanda Faye Mooneyham, 29, was charged with possession of Schedule VI drug for resale, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal impersonation, and viable fetus as victim. In the same incident, Christopher Eugene Layne, 28, was arrested for possession with the intent to sell methamphetamine, and Brandon Michael Dearth, 23, was charged with for simple possession of a Schedule II drug.
According to Smithville Police Chief Mark Collins, while attempting to serve a warrant on Layne, two other subjects were found at the same residence. A search of the three allegedly revealed Dearth to be in possession of a small bag which contained a substance the man reportedly admitted was meth.
Mooneyham was allegedly found with several baggies of a green, leafy substance, believed to be marijuana, along with scales and several other drug paraphernalia items.
Police said that when asked, Mooneyham admitted to officers that she had smoked pot and done meth earlier in the day.
According to police, Mooneyham is five months pregnant.
Bond for Layne was set at $20,000, bond for Dearth was set at $1,500, and bond for Mooneyham was set at $25,000 all three will appear in court on Jan 21.
Meanwhile, William Andrew Cantrell, 47, was arrested on two charges of theft and burglary on Jan. 8.
Police said the morning of January 8th two vehicles were broken into on the morning of Jan. 8, and items were taken without the owners' consent or knowledge. During the investigation a detective reportedly came into contact with Cantrell, who had items in his possession from the two incidents.
His bond was set at $15,000, and he will appear in court on Feb. 11 to face the theft charges. He also faces a violation of probation charge, with no bond.
Nicholas James Bayless 30, was arrested for unlawful possession of weapon by felon on Jan. 8.
Police reportedly received a report of a male subject walking west on West Broad Street, carrying a gun. The officer made contact with the subject and identified him as Nicholas Bayless. Bayless allegedly had a Ruger LCP pistol tucked in his waistband, and police said further investigation revealed that he was convicted in Davidson County in 2005 for felony aggravated burglary.
His bond was set at $10,000, and he will appear in court on Jan. 21.
Rickey W. Murphy, 35, and Tammie M. Anderson, 44, were arrested for sale and delivery of a Schedule VI drug on Jan. 7.
City officers reportedly went to Anderson's residence after receiving numerous complaints and information of illegal activity, and asked if they could search the premises. Upon obtaining consent, an officer allegedly found a bag of green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana, weighing 2.5 ounces, in Murphy and Anderson's bedroom. Police said a box of baggies was found close by.
Also found in the home was a glass pipe used to smoke marijuana, reportedly belonging to Charles Nathan Pack, 19, who was cited for drug paraphernalia during the bust.
Bond for Murphy and Anderson was set at $50,000 each, and they will both appear in court on Feb. 11. Pack’s court date is Jan. 21.
Brandon Ryan Haggard, 35, was arrested on Jan. 7 for simple possession of a Schedule VI drug and cited for driving on a revoked license and for a light law violation.
Police said officers observed a vehicle with a right taillight that was not operational and initiated a traffic stop on Luttrell Avenue. The officers made contact with the driver, identified as Brandon Haggard, and a computer check with central dispatch revealed that his license was revoked for DUI.
As Haggard was exiting the vehicle, officers allegedly noticed a baggie of a green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana sticking out of his front pocket.
His bond was set at $1500.00 GS: 1/21/16
Josh R Crabtree, 27, was cited for possession of Schedule VI drug and for being an unlicensed driver on Jan. 13.
According to police, Crabtree could not produce a valid driver license, and upon obtaining consent to search the vehicle officers found a clear baggie containing a green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana between the console and passenger seat.
A check of another vehicle parked at the residence where Crabtree resided reportedly produced warrants on Randi Michelle Johns, 31, who was arrested for criminal impersonation and warrant violation of probation. Police said an investigation determined that her name was Randi Johns, and that she was wanted in DeKalb County for violation of probation.
Also arrested was Robert Knox, for violation of probation out of Putnam County.
Bond for Johns was set at $2000, and she will appear in court on Jan. 28.
Michael Todd Jones, 36, was arrested for public intoxication on Jan. 9.
Police reportedly answered a call of an intoxicated person in the area of the DeKalb Community Complex. The man was said to be unsteady on his feet, drooling, and had slurred speech.
Officers allegedly found the man at the "On The Way" gas station and identified him as Michael Jones. Police said Jones was creating a disturbance and being a danger to himself.
His bond was set at $1000, and he will appear in court on Jan. 28.
Smithville police arrested Richard Brandon Turner, 44, on Jan. 9 and charged him with domestic assault.
Officers responding to a domestic assault reportedly observed the victim to have a swollen eyebrow and a swollen and bruised wrist upon arrival at the scene. It was determined that Richard Turner and the victim had been in an argument when he struck the victim in the face and wrist.
His bond was set at $10,000, and he will appear in court on Jan. 21.
City officers responded to a reported domestic assault and arrested Shawn Keith Buck, 34, on Dec. 31.
Police said an investigation determined that the parties had been involved in an altercation and Buck pushed the victim out of the residence and slammed the door on the victims hand, causing swelling and bruising.
His bond was set at $1500, and he will appear in court on Jan. 21.
