Smithville police took Regenia Kay Satterfield, 43, into custody on July 28 and charged her with three counts of fraudulent use of a debit card.
According to city police the victim in the case noticed that her debit card was missing from her residence on July 21. Satterfield was considered a suspect, as she had been staying at the residence for a few days.
Transactions provided by the victim’s bank revealed that the card had been used several times at the local Dollar Tree. An investigation allegedly revealed that Satterfield had used the card without permission.
Her bond was set at $7,500, and she will appear in court on Aug. 11.
Meanwhile, Rita Kaye Franklin, 51, was arrested for DUI on July 11.
Police responding to reports of a reckless driver that had pulled into the Dairy Queen parking lot observed Franklin to be in physical control of a motor vehicle. Franklin was reportedly unsteady on her feet, had slurred speech, slow motor skills, and was slow to comprehend instructions.
Franklin was asked to perform field sobriety task, which she performed poorly. Police believed Franklin to be unfit to drive and she was arrested.
Her bond was set at $2,500.
Kendra Faith Benson, 39, was arrested for DUI first offense on July 24.
Police responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle parked at the County Garage and reportedly found Benson passed out at the wheel of her vehicle with the keys in the ignition and the transmission in park. An open bottle of beer was allegedly seen in the cup holder of the middle console.
Benson reportedly had an odor of a fermented beverage about her breathe and person. She was asked to exit the vehicle and submit to several field sobriety tasks, which she refused. Benson was then placed in custody and asked to submit to a blood withdraw to which she agreed.
Her bond was set at $1,500.
Robert John Sablich, 55, has been cited for simple possession and drug paraphernalia. While conducting a probation search at his home, police allegedly found approx. five grams of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana and a pipe with residue in a kitchen drawer.
Daniel Lynn Johnson, 20, was cited for shoplifting and contributing to a delinquency of minors on July 11.
Johnson was allegedly seen taking and concealing items at a local retail outlet, and was stopped before he was able to exit the store. Two juveniles were reportedly with Johnson at the time.
Ray Franklin Vincent, 20, was cited for shoplifting on July 24.
A Wal-Mart loss prevention associate reportedly observed Vincent opening packages and concealing the contents on his person before exiting the store.
