A Liberty woman was charged with two counts of theft of property under $500  on Sept. 12.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, Wilma D. Chupp, 52, was arrested after she allegedly took money from a purse at a home just off of Dale Ridge Road on two separate occasions on Sept. 12.
Ray said Chupp signed a statement admitting to taking money from the residence on these and other occasions.
Her bond was set at $2,000, and she will appear in court on Sept. 26.
Floyd Eugene Lockhart, 58 was charged with violation of the sex offender registry on Sept. 20.
The sheriff said Lockhart was present at a home with a four-year-old male and his grandmother. Ray said Lockhart has been ordered not to have contact with any child under the age of eighteen, because he is a registered sex offender.
His bond was set at $5,000, and he will appear in court on Oct. 3.
Casey Marie Givens, 28, was charged with domestic assault on Sept. 16.
Ray said a deputy dispatched to investigate a domestic violence report at a Dale Ridge Road home spoke with Givens' mother. The woman reportedly told the deputy that Givens threw a pan at her, and a fight started.
She allegedly told the officer that she tried to defend herself as Givens came attacked her. Ray said others present in the home witnessed the incident.
Givens was determined to be the primary aggressor and was arrested. Her bond was set at $2,500, and she will appear in court on Sept. 26.
Donald Avery Donaldson was charged with domestic assault on Sept. 18.
The sheriff said a deputy looking into a call from a Johnson Chapel Road residence spoke with a woman who claimed she had been assaulted by Donaldson. The woman allegedly had scratches around her eye, on her back, and a swollen place on her arm that resembled a bite mark.
The woman was transported to the emergency room for treatment, and Donaldson was placed under arrest. His bond was set at $2,500, and he will appear in court on Sept. 26.
David Lynn Martin was charged with domestic assault on Sept. 20.
Ray said a deputy dispatched to Martin's residence to check out reports of an assault spoke with Abigail Vogel, who had scratch marks on her neck, leg, and back. She claimed that Martin pushed her out the door and that he had broken a TV set and the windshield of her vehicle.
Meanwhile, Vogel was reportedly under a court order not to be near the residence where the incident occurred, and was arrested for violation of an order of protection. The sheriff said that the order has been in effect since April.
Her bond was set at $2,500, and she will appear in court on Oct. 3. His bond was set at $2,500, and he will appear in court on Oct. 3.
Megan Ann Tramel, 29, and 38-year-old Earnest Paul Barnwell of  Sparta were both charged with criminal trespassing on Sept. 21.
According to the sheriff, a deputy was sent out to check a suspicious vehicle parked at the Lake Motel. The officer reportedly discovered that the vehicle belonged to Tramel, and went to her family’s home.
He allegedly found Tramel and Barnwell there, even though they had both been ordered by a family caretaker to stay away from the residence. Bond for both parties was set at $2,500, and they will appear in court on Oct. 17.
Jerry Lynn Burger, 64, was charged with driving under the influence and issued citations for leaving the scene of an accident, failure to maintain his lane of travel, and no insurance on Sept. 20.
Ray said a deputy saw Burger fall down after parking his vehicle and getting out. He allegedly had an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person, and he appeared to have soiled himself.
No field sobriety tasks were given due to his level of intoxication, but Burger reportedly submitted to a blood test. He was brought to the jail for booking and then transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
The sheriff said several witnesses saw Burger leave the roadway and hit a sign. His bond was set at $1,500 and he will appear in court on Oct. 3.
Kristie Renea Waggoner, 41, was charged with a second offense of driving under the influence and cited for violation of the implied consent law on Sept. 21. 
Sheriff Ray said a deputy investigating  a domestic violence call on Winter Drive. found Waggoner sitting in the driver's seat of her car with the engine running. She was allegedly holding an infant child in her lap.
The deputy reportedly detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle, and asked her to step out to perform field sobriety tasks.
She allegedly refused. to submit to the tests. Ray said the officer  could smell alcohol on her breath, and said that she was unsteady on her feet and her speech was slurred.
Waggoner was placed under arrest. She allegedly refused to submit to a blood test.
Because of a previous DUI and the fact that she had a child with her during the incident, Waggoner was served with a search warrant to obtain a blood draw. Her bond was set at $4,000, and she will appear in court on Oct. 17.
Anna Faye Colburn, 43, was charged with public intoxication and issued citations for possession of drug paraphernalia (two hypodermic needles and a cut straw) on Sept. 21.
Ray said that a deputy was dispatched to the New Home Road area to check out a disturbance call. The officer allegedly made contact with Colburn, who was running across other people’s lawns in the rain.
She was reportedly very unsteady on her feet and her speech was slurred. Her bond was set at $1,500, and she will appear in court on Oct. 3.
