Brandi McPheron, 35, faces charges on six counts of prescription fraud.
According to Smithville Police Chief Randy Caplinger, an officer took a statement from a representative from Rite-Aid in Smithville on Oct. 21, and the employee of the drug store told him that beginning on Aug. 11 someone had called in prescriptions six times, each time for 60 Tramadol tablets, in the name of Kari Stevens, and McPheron had signed for and picked the medication up on each occasion.
The caller allegedly stated that they were representing Dr. William Zeller of Mercy Clinic Family Medicine in Hollister, Missouri. The calls allegedly took place between Aug. 11 and Oct. 24, for a total of 360 pills.
The doctor was contacted and reportedly told police that he had no patient with that name, and did not call in the prescriptions.
Her bonds total 30,000. The case is still under investigation.
Demetria Phillips, 28, and her mother, Lisa Ann Davis, 50, were both cited for theft at Walmart after Phillips allegedly attempted to distract employees by paying for a small number of items while Davis took other items out of the store and to her vehicle. The total value of the items was $189.79.
Both women will appear in court on Nov. 20.
Timothy Ervin Jr., 53, was charged a second with DUI offense and three counts of possession of a Schedule II drug on Oct. 18
An officer dispatched to investigate reports of a reckless driver on West Broad Street spotted the vehicle with a matching tag number and followed it for approximately one-half mile and allegedly witnessed the operator weaving from lane to lane and driving erratically. Upon pulling the vehicle over the officer found Ervin behind the wheel with slurred speech and a strong smell of alcohol coming from vehicle.
He reportedly could not complete field sobriety tests due to his inebriated condition.
Ervin was arrested for DUI, and while inventorying his personal property officers allegedly noticed that there were three different kinds of pills in his prescription bottle. While police said the prescription was for Hydrocodone, none of the pills appeared to match the information on the bottle. The pharmaceuticals were sent to the crime lab for identification.
His bond was set at 10,500, and he will appear in court on all charges on Nov. 20.

An officer responding to reports of a possible DUI reportedly made contact with Thistlethwaite, who allegedly had a strong odor of alcohol coming from her vehicle. Caplinger said her speech was slurred and she was very unsteady on her feet.
She performed poorly on field sobriety tests, and a small bag containing a green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana was found in her right front pocket, along with a pipe though by police to be used to smoke the illegal weed.
Her bond was set at $1,500 and she will appear in court on Nov. 20.
