Woman charged with smuggling drugs into jail

A local woman is in dutch with the law after she was caught attempting to smuggle contraband into the DeKalb County Jail Sunday.Porsche Lynn Cantrell, 22, was charged with introduction of drugs into a penal institution and criminal trespassing after authorities allegedly caught her trying to bring tobacco and drugs into the jail.Jail personnel reported that they watched Cantrell on the jail’s video surveillance system as she tried to throw a package over the recreation yard fence behind the jail, only to have the package hang up on top of the fence.She then reportedly climbed the fence in order to retrieve the package.When officers recovered the package, it was found to contain a half-ounce of marijuana, tobacco cigarettes and lighters. Cantrell was taken into custody and charged.Her bond totals $7,500 and her court date is March 15.Donald Earl Foster, 41, was cited last week for violation of the light law, two counts of simple possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (methamphetmine) and (oxycodone) and simple possession of a Schedule III controlled substance (hydrocdone).According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, Foster was stopped by a deputy for having a tail light out on Feb. 27.When he was searched, officers allegedly found a small metal container which held five hydrocodone pills, an oxycodone pill, and a plastic bag of a white powdery substance believed to be methamphetamine on Foster’s person.He will be in court on April 12.Phillip Andrew Martin, 24, is charged with domestic assault. Martin allegedly entered the home of a family member on Eagle Creek Road on Feb. 27 and assaulted the victim, hitting him several times about the face and head.His bond is $2,500 and he will be in court on March 1.Howard Eugene Brown, 34, of Gentry Avenue, Smithville is charged with burglary, theft of property over $1,000, and filing a false report.Brown allegedly entered a barn on New Home Road on Dec. 5 and took a 2003 Honda Rancher ATV.When detectives from the sheriff's department went to Brown's Gentry Avenue home on Feb. 27, he reportedly told them that his name was Michael Roy West.He later admitted his true identity to investigators, and the ATV was recovered.His bond totals $11,500 and he will be in court on March 8.Melissa Gean Petty, 45, was recently picked up on a sealed indictment charging her with sale and delivery of a Schedule II drug (dilaudid) in a drug-free zone and two counts of sale and delivery of a Schedule II drug (dilaudid).Her bond is $100,000 and she will be in court on March 19.Raymond Earl Tague, 43, was charged with public intoxication on March 3.
