Tracy Ann Thomason, 28, was arrested and charged with two counts of theft of property under $500 on Feb. 8.
According to police reports, Sergeant Andy Snow was dispatched to investigate a stolen-property call at an event at the Smithville Church of God on West Broad Street.
While on his way to the call, the sergeant was informed that the suspect had left the church and was walking east on Broad Street with members of the church following.
Snow reportedly made contact with Thomason on Whaley Street, and found two stolen wallets in her purse.
The wallets and contents, minus some cash, were recovered and returned to the owners.
Thomason’s bond is set at $4,000, and she will appear in General Sessions Court on March 7.
Thomason was arrested again on Feb. 11 for public intoxication when Sergeant Brad Tatrow responded to a shoplifting call at Walmart and allegedly found her to be inebriated.
After viewing video of the suspect in the make-up aisle, Tatrow reportedly located Thomason in the store and observed her to be unsteady on her feet as well as having slurred speech.
She was escorted to the office to allow loss prevention to get her information so the store could prosecute for shoplifting and was placed under arrest.
Her bond was set at $1,000, and she will appear in General Sessions court on March 14.
Meanwhile, Lonnie Lynn Wheeler, 37, was arrested for disorderly conduct on Feb. 14.
Officers responding to a disturbance on Lincoln Street reportedly found several windows broken out of residence, along with three men who had been scuffling.
One of the men, Wheeler, was allegedly combative and refused to comply with officers instructions.
Wheeler was tased and arrested for disorderly conduct.
His bond is set at $4,000, and he will appear in General Sessions court on Feb. 21.
