A McMinnville woman was placed on probation this past week for having sex with a teenage boy.
The woman, Summer Irene Roach, 21, entered a guilty plea to the charge of statuatory rape and was directed by Judge Davis Patterson to spend two years on supervised probation.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, the incident which landed Roach in trouble happened last November and involved a male juvenile. His exact age was not revealed although he would have had to be more than four years Roach’s junior.
Under state law, sex between an adult and a minor is illegal unless they are four years or less apart in age. In the case of Roach, prosecutors said she engaged in intercourse with the youth.
While entering a plea to the felony, Roach will not be required to list herself with the state sexual offender registry. She has also been granted a judicial diversion meaning she can have her record erased provided she successfully completes her probation without incident.
