Jennifer Ann Ferrell, 25, of Dowelltown was charged with filing a false report on Sept. 12.According to the sheriff, a deputy went to Regions Bank on the square to serve a warrant on Matthew Baker, who had been seen in the bank.The deputy searched the bank but Baker was reportedly nowhere to be found, and Ferrell, who was working as a cleaning lady in the building, told the deputy that Baker was not there.Then a security officer locking the bank at closing time saw Baker emerge from somewhere inside the building.He allegedly told the officer that he had been hiding in the tile ceiling.Ray said Ferrell was charged because she lied to the deputy about Baker's being in the bank.Her bond is $5,000 and she will be in court on Sept. 20.Meanwhile, Joseph Daniel Richardson, 31, of Liberty has been arrested and charged with aggravated burglary, two counts of forgery, theft of property over $1,000, and possession of a prohibited weapon.Ray said that Richardson broke into a home on Cedar Street in Liberty on July 20 by entering through the garage.He allegedly stole a 20-gauge and a 12-gauge shotgun, a muzzleloader, a pellet rifle, several pieces of jewelry and a blue Pyrex tote bag with a total value of more than $1,000.His bond is $30,000, and he will be in court on Oct. 4.Richardson is also accused of passing forged checks at the Stop-N-Buy on Highway 70 in Liberty on three separate occasions in an unrelated case.According to the sheriff, Richardson passed a forged check in the amount of $55 on Sept. 3, another forged check for $60 on Sept. 7, and another for $60 on Sept. 8.
