Woman uninjured in rollover
wreck W

A Florida woman with a lake home on Ford Road in the Austin Bottom community escaped a rollover crash without serious injury Friday. According to Trooper Chris Delong of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 65-year-old Pamela Mather’s 2004 Lexus SUV slid off the right shoulder of Ford Road just before 11 a.m., overturning more than once and striking several trees before the vehicle came to rest on its wheels on the steep hillside. Members of the Smithville-DeKalb County Rescue Squad used ropes and a winch to bring the woman back to the roadway in a Stokes basket, where she refused transport to a hospital. DeKalb EMS, the sheriff’s department and the DeKalb Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
