The Smithville Review Women's Expo will celebrate its third year this Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the county complex. The event is free.

The DeKalb Women’s expo is coming to the County Complex this Saturday, the free event offering a wide variety of activities and shopping possibilities for the ladies of the area.

“This is our third annual women’s expo put on by the Smithville Review and sponsored by St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital,” said Review General Manager Angie Meadows. “This is a chance to let businesses showcase all in one place and give women a chance to shop.”

The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday at the DeKalb County Complex in the main auditorium.

“We will have a room full of businesses and informational booths,” Meadows revealed, adding everyone is welcome but the event itself is geared toward women.

Meadows noted the five dollar entry fee is being dropped this year which will allow attendees to spend that five dollars at the expo if they wish. The options, she noted, will be numerous when it comes to shopping.

“We have jewelry, homemade soaps and lotions, health care products, essential oils, re-purposed furniture, clothing and much more,” Meadows said, adding it is not just shopping that should draw women to the event. “Women who are interested in perhaps starting their own business can learn how to get started.”

There will be door prizes drawn all day and attendees will be able to vote for their favorite booth at the expo. The winning booth will get $75.
“Come out and vote for your favorite booth and maybe win a door prize,” Meadows encouraged, noting you do not have to be present to win, provided you come and register for a doorprize.
