Randall A. York, Attorney General of the 13th judicial district, announced last week that he will run for the Circuit Court Judge, Part II seat to be left vacant by the retirement of John J. Maddux, Jr.Maddux announced recently that he will not seek reelection in 2014.York, appointed AG by former governor Phil Bredesen in 2008 after the resignation of William E. Gibson, has now served five years in the office. During his tenure he led his office to become the first completely digital DA’s office, established a file closure system to allow files to be found, accessed and utilized in an efficient manner, formed the Family Justice Center, helped establish the formation of the Upper Cumberland Drug Court and reformed the 13th Judicial Drug Task Force.York said he hopes to follow in the footsteps of the many noted judges who have preceded him in the office. "Today, I am pleased to announce my candidacy for Circuit Judge, Part II of the 13th Judicial District,” he shared.
