Funeral services for Travis Whitefield, 75, of Smithville were held Jan. 9 at Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Tommy Taylor officiated with burial following at DeKalb Cemetery.He passed away Jan.7 at DeKalb Community Hospital.He had worked at the Smithville Shirt Factory.He was preceded in death by his parents, Togo and Ida Whitefield; wife, Frances Carter Whitefield; two sisters, Reba and Lucille Whitefield.He is survived by one daughter, Sharon and Rick Yocum of Sparta; two granddaughters, Becky and Amy Yocum of Sparta; two grandchildren, Harliee Yocum and Colton Key of Sparta; two brothers, Willis Whitefield of Smithville, James (Josephine) Whitefield of Baxter; brother-in-law, Eugene (Joye Fay) Carter.Pallbearers included; Michael, Chris Earl Whitefield, Jeff Cater Jr., Stephen Carter, Benjamin and Daniel Bratcher.Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of arrangements.SMITHVILLE REVIEWSmithville, TNJanuary 15, 2014
