Braves Beat Yankees in Senior League

By Chris Tramel

DeKalb Youth Baseball began their Fall Senior League season last week as the Yankees took on the Braves. The game would be a blowout for the Braves.

For the Yankees, they just could not find home plate. In the first inning, Ty Panker made it to first base, but would fail to advance, while Jon Hendrix would only make it to second base in the second inning. Jacob Hendrix, Carson Vincent, and Panker would each single in the third inning, but third base would be as far as they would reach before their at bats ended. They would go three and out in the fourth.

Meanwhile, the Braves raked up the runs. Hunter Cantrell and Weston Wright each scored in the first inning, while Alex Lemons, Bryson Arnold, Cantrell, Jackson Arnold, Jordan Parker, and Matt Rowe each touched home in the second. Cantrell, Wright, and Jackson Arnold would repeat in the third, while Carson Donnell, Wright and Jackson Arnold each had a run in the fourth. The Braves took the 14-0 shutout.

Jordan Parker was the winning pitcher, with Evan Prichard in relief in the fourth. Jacob Hendrix threw for the Yankees, with Tyler Jackson taking over in the third.
