                 JULY
The Smithville Fiddlers’ Jamboree and Crafts Festival was underway, and the annual Fiddler 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run had a milestone, marking its 15th year. The race had to deal with something the event had never dealt with before … rain and a lot of it. With over 10 inches of rain recorded in some parts of the county, some runners decided not to brave the elements. But despite the dark skies and the relentless downpours, the race went off without a hitch.
