The DeKalb County soccer Tigers played Livingston Academy last Thursday night.
After an amazing game the Tigers won against Livingston for the first time in DeKalb soccer history.
The Tigers also played Jackson county the afternoon before.
Thursday night was also the Tigers Senior Night, and senior players were recognized for all their participation.
After all the rain last Tuesday the game scheduled for May 3 was moved to the fourth at 1p.m.
The Jackson county game was an easy win for the Tigers. They racked up six goals in the first half, and another one in the second giving them an easy 7-0 win.
Javier Sanchez returned to the field after breaking his collarbone earlier in the season. He scored three of the goals, all within quick secession of another.
Juan Torres also scored, along with Cameron Lester, Luis Richards, and Eli Lomas.
During the game Jesus Rivera was given a red card and forced to leave the game.
He was unable to play during the Livingston game and one game of the district playoffs.
Thursday night was a night not to be missed.
The Tigers played Livingston Academy at home. DeKalb had never beaten Livingston and it was a heart touching win for the team.
The Tigers put everything they had out on the table and managed to keep the ball at Livingston's goal.
They would not let Livingston pass their defender line, but on the few chances they got Weston Rhody was ready for them.
Mason Merriman was given a yellow card when he pushed a member of the other team after the player kicked him.
The referee also gave two players on the Livingston team yellow cards for rude comments.
The game continued, and  in the second half real heart pounding action was seen.
Weston Rhody made a tremendous save half way into the game.
With nineteen minutes left in the second half, Javier Sanchez scored for the Tigers.
It was an amazing moment to be in the crowd. Everyone cheered and stood on their feet.
The Tigers now only had to hold off Livingston Academy and they would walk away with a win.
The Livingston coach ended up getting so angry he was given a yellow card, threw his hat, and screamed loudly.
The Tigers fought hard to the last minute.
When the clock ran out, the Tigers stormed the field and huddled in a scene of pure joy.
The team poured the game gatorade on coach Kleparek and celebrated with such force that everyone will always remember the year the Tigers finally beat Livingston.
