The DeKalb County High School Tiger baseball team, ended their season last week forfeiting two games against Upperman in district tournament play due to severe weather, resulting in a second-place district finish.
The Tigers began post-season play in the District Tournament in Baxter on May 2 losing to Upperman 8-3, but then going on a three-game streak, knocking off Cumberland County 6-3, before beating White County 11-3 and Stone Memorial 9-8.
The Tigers emerged from the losers backet with a scheduled rematch with Upperman, but weather forced them to settle for second place, and a road trip to Tullahoma for the Region opener.
In the Region Tournament, were shut out 8-0 by Tullahoma High School on Thursday, then were eliminated 13-1 by the Lawrence County Wildcats on Saturday, May 11. The Tigers’ one run in that game came after a single grounder to second by Brayden Carter, and later an RBI single line drive to left by Evan Prichard.
