The DeKalb County Middle School football team hosted the Cornerstone Yellowjackets on Tuesday night at VanHooser Stadium. The game, originally scheduled to be 8th Grade Night, was now both 8th Grade Night and Homecoming for the Saints. The air was full of excitement as the football players escorted the Homecoming Queen Morgan LeAnn Pedigo and her court onto the field. However, the game was not as exciting, as the Saints lost by a score of 32-0.Cornerstone did not score until there was 7:10 remaining in the first half with a 6-yard pass.Four minutes and seven second later, the Yellowjackets scored their second touchdown when the Cornerstone halfback took a pitch, ran around the end, pulled up, and tossed the ball to an open receiver who then raced 64 yards for the score. The 2-point conversion run was good, and with only 3:03 remaining in the first half, Cornerstone led 16-0.The third quarter was scoreless with both teams having had possession of the football only once.
